Seeking for Treasure
A look at Proverbs 2:4-5
If thou seekest [Wisdom] as silver,
and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord,
and find the knowledge of God.
— Proverbs 2:4-5 KJV
Have you ever seen one of those movies about treasure hunting? You know: the kind where the hero will stop at nothing to get the treasure he’s searching for? Well, wisdom should be that type of treasure for us! We should be seeking for wisdom just as diligently as the hero searches for his treasure.
Do you know why wisdom is so precious? It comes from and brings us closer to God! The wisdom spoken of in Proverbs is not the type of knowledge found in large, well-know universities. Rather, this wisdom can be found only in God’s Word through the leading of the Holy Spirit.
So read your Bible!
Begin to diligently seek God’s Word daily!
You will find the treasure you are seeking for if it is the wisdom from God!
Let’s Pray:
Dear God,
Thank You for the wisdom You give! I want to daily seek Your wisdom everyday. Guide me on my path, and open up my heart and mind to accept the truth found in the treasure of Your Word!
