I am currently dealing with a cold, so there is no voiceover for this post. I apologize for that.
Wow! It’s November already?! That’s insane! The year is almost over!
Let’s look at what is coming up this month!
Introducing . . . The Referral Program!
I’m so excited to announce the Roses In A Thorny World Referral Program! Through this program, you can receive prizes for simply sharing the blog with a friend! Below you can see what the rewards are and how many referrals you need to win them!
So, here’s how it works:
Create or sign into your Substack account! (If you don’t have one, I explained how to do it in my last newsletter, which you can find below!)
Hit the button below to visit the leaderboard!
The leaderboard will generate your own unique link. Copy the link and send it to any friends you think might enjoy the blog!
If a person you share it with subscribes, that counts as 1 referral!
Once you reach a certain number of referrals, you will automatically be sent an email with your reward!
A Month Of Thankfulness!
With Thanksgiving coming up, I figured it would be a good idea to center this month’s posts around thankfulness. And besides that, I want to introduce a way in which all of my subscribers can actively participate in a thankfulness challenge! For this purpose, I have added a chat space to the blog! (You must be subscribed and have a Substack account to use the chat.)
Now, let me explain the idea behind this thankfulness challenge. My family has a tradition in November. Sometime at the beginning of the month, we go out and collect sticks and put them in a vase. Then, each day, we take a paper leaf, write something we’re thankful on it along with our name, hole punch the leaf, and stick it on one of the branches. This is our thankful tree.
This challenge is going to be similar to that. Every day throughout November (yes, even when Thanksgiving is passed), I will start a thread in the chat by sharing about something I’m thankful for, and I would like you also to think of something for which you are thankful! You can share it in the chat thread with others, or, if you prefer to keep it to yourself, try writing it down in a journal.
Try to be specific. Don’t just write down what your thankful for, but write down why your thankful for it! For example, instead of saying, “I’m thankful for my parents,” you might say something along the lines of, “I’m thankful for my parents because they taught me good Christian principles on how to live my life for Jesus!” It’s still short and sweet, but it gets you really thinking about why you are thankful for what you’re thankful for!
Whether you participate in the chat or not, I hope that you will think about things God has blessed you with as you go through this month (and through life as a whole)! There are so many things God has given us that we can be thankful for, and we ought to take the time to sit down and thank Him for them!
Songs to Share
I like music . . . I mean I really like music! (It’s probably my parents fault for naming me Melody 😂) And there are so many songs God has allowed people to write that encourage us to be thankful! So let me share a few with you here to get you in the mood for November!
Welp, that’s it for this newsletter! I hope you’ll enjoy this month’s posts, and I hope you’ll participate in both the thankfulness challenge and the referral program (which I must say I enjoyed setting up . . . using Canva is a blast)! Thank you for your continued support of my work!
Your sister in Christ,
