Matthew 5:16
In my last devotional, I mentioned possibly tying in this post with my little miniseries, and this verse certainly does tie in to it. I hope you will approach this particular verse with Wednesday's devotional topic in mind.

What Can We Learn From This Verse?
In this verse, Jesus calls his followers to be lights in this dark world. Our actions are to show the light of the Gospel to others. We do this as we live godly lifestyles.
People notice when we act different: when we choose to exhibit self-control; when we turn the other cheek; when we are charitable. They notice when we choose to abstain from the evil actions the world glorifies. By the way we act, we shine our lights, reflecting the love of Jesus in the world of darkness.
And by shining our light, we can bring others to glorify our Father in heaven. This could simply be other believers praising God for the faith they see exhibited by others, or it could be the turning of an unbeliever's heart to Jesus!
Let's Pray:
Dear Father,
Help me to shine the light of Your truth into the world around me! Let my spirit burn with the love of your Son! Let others see You through me, and bring them to glorify Your Name!
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
